Details

One tricycle that covers about four years.

Most ride-ons get outgrown in a season. The K12 runs six configurations: parent-push with guardrail and footrest for the youngest, through to an independent pedal trike once they've worked out steering. The seat reverses so they can face you at the start.

What makes it work

  • Six configurations, one purchase — It starts as a parent-controlled push trike with a guardrail and footrest, and ends as an independent pedal trike — the stages in between are why you buy once instead of three times.
  • Seat reverses so they face you — In the early stage the seat faces the parent, which is the difference between a ride and a screaming match.
  • Extra-large canopy — Genuine shade, not a token visor. It's the part parents notice first when the sun comes out.
  • Removable pedals and guardrail — Take the pedals off while they're too small to use them, put them back when they're ready. The guardrail comes off the same way.
  • Push handle adjusts to your height — Set it to yours, not the average — your back will tell you the difference after a long walk.

The six stages

  1. Infant push — seat parent-facing, guardrail on, footrest out, pedals off.
  2. Toddler push — seat forward-facing, guardrail still on.
  3. Guided pedalling — pedals on, push handle still attached for hills.
  4. Supervised ride — guardrail off, handle on.
  5. Independent trike — handle and guardrail removed.
  6. Compact storage — handle folds for the car boot.

One honest note: a helmet is not included and should be. Check the weight limit before each stage change.
